Canadian Healthcare is "Imploding"

According to the Canadian Press: "Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country - who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting - recognize that changes must be made.

"'We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize,' Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press."

Mmmm hmmmm....

And what are we trying to do in this country? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Shame on our politicians who are literally falling over themselves to get control of yet another aspect of our lives!

Take Down The Little Girl!!!!

OK, so there was a town hall that Obama spoke at where he “randomly” selected a little girl from the audience who was worried about the mean things people were saying about ObamaCare … now named HopenchangeCare or HNCC for short.

Michelle Malkin determined that the girl is the daughter of an Obama campaign supporter and routed out the fact that this was anything but a “random” selection from the audience.

Now liberals are furious about it! “Because she got to ask president Obama a question at a town hall forum. Bad idea! (She was an "in-the-tank questioner.") The girl may as well have painted a bull's eye on her back because Malkin and her online detective pals are takin' that kid down!!”

Oh, and I love the comment by one of the posters: “My personal definition of ideologue is someone who puts their "principles" before the real-life needs of real people.” Ummm… if you don’t stand by your principles what are you? If everything to you is wishy-washy and you change your position 100 times a day, what are you? How can you define “needs of the people”? What are needs? Don’t different people have differing needs? What does all of this make you? Answer: A lib.

FAIL!

The story from AP: “But what LaHood and other administration officials usually don't mention is that some trucks and sport-utility vehicles that get less than 20 miles per gallon, like the Ford F-150 truck and one version of the Cadillac SRX Crossover, also are being purchased with the new government subsidies. Both are bulky vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds when loaded that boast at least 248 horsepower … Ledesma hopes to sell the other 14 at the dealership, along with some of the Hummer H3Ts on the lot that are eligible for clunker rebates.”

So the government can’t even run a car program correctly as they have showed us several times. First we ran out of $1B that was slated for the program in 6 days causing it to come to a screeching halt (pun intended). Next, we learn that after funding the program with $2B more dollars there has been a dramatic slowdown in demand. Now we learn that the program designed to get low gas mileage vehicles off the road and replace them with fuel sippers is allowing rebates for HUMMER vehicles, trucks, and other SUVs that get less than 20 mpg.

Can this administration do anything right? Oh, yeah, they can fix healthcare and do that right. Sure they can….

Politician = Liar; Democrat Politician = Free Pass

Yeah, ummmm hmmmmm… There is a video from August 2008 where Obama states “If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system” or in 2003 when he said “I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health-care program . . . we may not get there immediately" and then telling an SEIU Health Care Forum in 2007, "I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out where we've got a much more portable system."

Come on! Are you seriously going to stand there reading your teleprompter and blatantly lie to the American people?!?! What is wrong with this country is that we elect these idiots to office. Can’t we do better than that?

Federal deficit higher in July, $1.27T this year

…but hey, there is 2 months left for the o’mighty PreBO to find this money to close that gap. I’m sure he will be able to reduce the budget by, say, $100 million or so. What a joke!

Also, recall that Timmy wants to raise the available debt limit to $12+ trillion. We are in for some serious trouble if that happens. Let’s do some simple math. Assume our interest rate is only 3% on the outstanding balance of our government debts. $12,000,000,000,000 * 0.03 = 360,000,000,000 or $360 billion a year. That’s $360 billion that the imperial federal government is going to STEAL from you at the point of a gun just to cover the interest payments on our debt! In other words, that $360 billion, or about $1,000 extra per person in this country that they would not have to pay in taxes. But hey, the government can do no wrong, right? Riiiiiiiggght!

Global Warming Scare!!!

According to Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

Maybe I am off here but I don’t think we have one named tropical storm this year much less a single hurricane. Also, I am unaware of any tornadoes… maybe you all can correct me on that?

Furthermore, I love how she says that we need to do something about global warming because “I feel it when I’m flying” and dumping millions of tons of carbon into the air from the jet fuel used by the plane. Moron! Do as I say, not as I do. Why do I expect this now?

If You Oppose Gov’t Healthcare You’re Simply a Pawn of Big Business

Here is a great piece discussing why the big insurance and pharma companies are pushing for the healthcare reform.

Social Security Reform is Next!

“’Over the course of the president’s term, the president will, I am confident, address Social Security,’ Mr. Summers said in a response to a question at a conference of the National Bureau of Economic Research.”

“Mr. Summers seemed intent on signaling that Mr. Obama’s idea of “reform” would be to strengthen the program rather rather than to partly privatize it.”

Yeah!!! More government spending from President Hopenchange. I’m guessing he is starting to hope for some spare change (trillions of $$) to be found somewhere … ah, how about the wallet of the rich? That ought to do it.

Government Telling You How To Raise YOUR Kid

This stuff just can’t be made up. Honestly, do they think that we will just ignore such a breach of their Constitutional rights? Remember, the Constitution dictates what the Federal government can do, all other powers and rights are left to the people or the states.

It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

#1 I have heard many people worry that health care will be "rationed" under health reform. I won’t be able to get certain tests or procedures. What if I want those tests and what if they detect something that could save my life?

“Health Insurance Reform will end current forms of rationing, not expand it.” –Yeah, riiiight. Look at any other country that has tried this type of government takeover of the healthcare system. What do you get? Higher costs in the form of taxes and longer waiting lines (i.e. rationed care). Having access to ‘free’ healthcare means nothing if you die waiting in line to get a procedure done!

Health Insurance Reform will prevent insurance companies from denying coverage because you have a pre-existing condition …” –Honestly, the whole pre-existing condition argument is getting old. I’m sorry you have a pre-existing condition. The insurance companies can deny you or charge you out the @$$. Many chose to let you seek coverage elsewhere. These companies have to make a profit!

“… and prevent discrimination based on gender.” –What?!! That’s a first for me.

#2 Isn’t health reform going to put more burdens on federal and state governments because we will be covering more people without insurance?

“The cost of caring for the uninsured burdens all of us. Families with insurance pay a hidden tax of $1000 to cover the cost of uncompensated care in this country.” –Then send the illegal aliens packing since they are the primary drain. Also, those without insurance should get the minimum care if life threatening, other than that, you are on your own.

“We have to expand coverage and bring down costs for families …” –That sounds an awful lot like Joe Biden. “We have to spend money to stop from going bankrupt.”

#3 This legislation is going to cost more than a trillion dollars: how can we afford that?
The majority of the initiatives that would pay for reform will come from cutting waste, fraud, and abuse within existing government health programs …” –You mean there is waste in the government? That can’t be!! Ok, so you admit it; what is going to stop this program from becoming even more full of “waste, fraud, and abuse?”

“… and streamlining paperwork.” –No arguments there.

“Health insurance reform must also encourage the kinds of reforms we know will save money in the long run: preventive care …” –See the CBO report on why preventive care will actually increase costs, not decrease it.

“Health insurance reform would be fully paid for over 10 years, and it would not add one penny to the deficit.” –You’re not listening!!!! Read the CBO reports … oh, that’s right. You don’t even read the bills you vote for, why would I expect you to read the CBO reports. Silly me.

“The cost of inaction is too high.” –That is what you said about the stimulus plan and look where that has got us! $1 trillion in the hold and counting (remember, we owe interest on that money because we borrowed it).

Preventive Care to Cost More, Not Less

Awww... I hate to rain on your "it will cost less" parade! This is just another example of what I have been saying for years, the government doesn't know how much any of their programs will cost and in an effort to get it passed they severely underestimate.

Now this from the CBO: "Although different types of preventive care have different effects on spending, the evidence suggests that for most preventive services, expanded utilization leads to higher, not lower, medical spending overall.

"That result may seem counterintuitive. For example, many observers point to cases in which a simple medical test, if given early enough, can reveal a condition that is treatable at a fraction of the cost of treating that same illness after it has progressed. In such cases, an ounce of prevention improves health and reduces spending—for that individual. But when analyzing the effects of preventive care on total spending for health care, it is important to recognize that doctors do not know beforehand which patients are going to develop costly illnesses. To avert one case of acute illness, it is usually necessary to provide preventive care to many patients, most of whom would not have suffered that illness anyway."

“President Harry Truman called on Congress to guarantee all Americans the ‘right to adequate medical care and protection from the economic fears of sickness.’” –OK, so Harry Truman got it wrong too! Medical care is NOT a right!!! It is a privilege as one person has to sacrifice part of their life and property to serve others’ medical needs.

“The failure of past attempts is a reminder that health insurance reform is a defining moment in our nation's history — it is well worth the time it takes to get it right … to produce one strong piece of legislation that the House will approve in September” –So if you want to take your time, I guess that means one month! I’m going to “take my time” building a space shuttle. It should be done next month. Please, these hacks want to get this thing rammed through as quickly as possible so that you don’t catch on to their true purpose, which is not affordable healthcare. It’s not about medical insurance. It’s about political power over you by means of your very life!!!

“it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue.” –Are you serious?!?! First, it is not about health insurance. Second, you and your ilk are the ones spreading misinformation, mainly because you all don’t even know what is in the legislation. I mean, why read it, right? Thirdly, you don’t want to have a civil dialogue. Look at the way Mr. Scott from Georgia blew up over an innocent and honest question. Civil dialogue… ha!

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.” –Wow, where do I start? These people are afraid of change that YOU are bringing because it is nothing but a disaster waiting to happen! If we believe that the facts are what you say they are then we are being un-American. There are no more facts that what is in the bill that gets put forward. And so far, you are ones not reading it. You are the ones that are not presenting the facts. You are the one drowning out opposition by name calling. You are the ones who are un-American!

“The first fact is that health insurance reform will mean more patient choice.” –Yeah, right! After the government has killed off the private sector insurance you will be told who, where, and when you can see a doctor. Just wait.

“It will allow every American who likes his or her current plan to keep it.” –Once again, READ THE BILL!!! You have specifically killed off any ability to switch or change plans. Yeah, you can keep what you got but that’s it! Change jobs, hello government insurance. Change coverage, hello government insurance. Have a child, hello government insurance. Etc. etc. etc.

“never again will insurance companies be allowed to deny patients coverage because of pre-existing conditions” –This reminds me of Atlas Shrugged where the trains had to run to desolate areas regardless of the fact that it wasn’t profitable and their businesses were crumbling. Mark my words, when the government begins forcing insurance companies to accept people with pre-existing conditions the cost of insurance will sky rocket or the company will go out of business because the government can offer the coverage needed without regard to price.

“Reform will mean affordable coverage for all Americans.” –See above! The only reason that government insurance will be affordable is because it is subsidized by the evil, hated, disgusting rich!!

“Reform will also mean higher-quality care by promoting preventive care so health problems can be addressed before they become crises.” –You tell people to exercise in grade school and they choose not to do it. People still smoke knowing the consequences. You think the government having one new program to promote healthy living will change things? Good luck.

Increase Federal Debt Limit

Ummm… Timmy. Don’t you realize that the more we get into debt the LESS confident people around the world will feel toward us repaying our obligations? It is like giving an alcoholic more booze in hopes that he will quit or at least moderate his alcoholism.

Jets For The Royalty!

According to the WSJ: “lawmakers to spend $550 million for additional passenger jets for senior government officials.”

Opposition is beginning in both parties of the Senate. “’It is evidence that some of the cynicism about Washington is well placed -- that people get out of touch and they spend money like it's Monopoly money.’”

It is Monopoly money because they didn’t have to earn it! They feel as they are mightier than thou and may choose to spend YOUR money any way THEY feel. Take a freakin’ commercial plane like everyone else you old wrinkly hags!!!

Where is Our Tax Dollars Going?

Despite a new oversight panel, a new special inspector general, the existing Government Accountability Office and eight other inspectors general, those charged with minding the store say they don't have all the weapons they need. Ten months into the Troubled Asset Relief Program, some members of Congress say that some oversight of bailout dollars has been so lacking that it's essentially worthless.”

“The department has refused, saying that once an investment is made in a big bank, it's not possible to track how it's used.”

Excellent! Just spend $700+ Billion and don’t worry, we’ll get it back. We were told this was an investment; that it would actually cost much less than $700 Billion—in fact we might actually make money. The government making money… that’s the biggest scam I’ve ever heard of.

Obama Saved Us From Catastrophe!

All hail King Obama! All hail Chief Hopenchange!

He has single-handely saved our economy from certain disaster! From Breitbart: "While we have rescued our economy from catastrophe, we have also begun to build a new foundation for growth," Obama said.

Not only that, he has built a new foundation for growth! My goodness... he's a miracle worker!!!

So I guess a "new foundation for growth" includes digging ourselves so far and so deep into a hole with debt that we can't see the light of day (and no, its not nighttime).

And he can make this claim because "We are losing jobs at less than half the rate we were when I took office. We have pulled the financial system back from the brink."

Gotcha! We are still losing jobs, just more slowly so we must be doing good!

Ok, let’s dissect this a bit.

“Every American has the inalienable right to participate in our democratic process.” We are not a democracy nor were we ever intended to be.

“But that is not what the corporate-funded mobs are engaging in when they show up to disrupt town halls held by members of Congress.” The so-called “mobs” are not corporate funded. They are, by-and-large, ordinary American citizens that are taking their time to ask questions, to voice their dissent to government healthcare.

“Major health care reform is closer than ever to passage and it is no secret that special interests want to weaken or block it.” It is also no secret that it is as you stated, “health care reform” not health insurance reform as we have been told. And yes, any reasonable citizen would want to block what you got out there now. Changes are needed, yes, but not the changes that are in the current proposed legislation!

“These mobs are not there to participate. As their own strategy memo states, they have been sent by their corporate and lobbyist bankrollers to disrupt, heckle and block meaningful debate.” We’ve been through this “corporate-funded mob” before. Are there corporate individuals, lobbyists and others that oppose this legislation? Yes. But the majority are ordinary folks with real concerns at the direction of our country.

“This is a desperation move, meant to slow the momentum for change.” Many are not opposed to the idea of change, we must know, however, what we are changing to. Now that we know more about the bill, we are opposed to what the Democrats want to change to, not the act of change itself.

You Don't Support Heathcare Reform, You RACIST!

So, if you oppose the government’s attempt to take over about 20% of the US economy, if you don’t think healthcare is a right, if you oppose receiving an unearned benefit at the expense of another, if you don’t want rationed care, if you don’t want a bureaucrat in Washington making your health care decisions then you are just an “angry white voter” who is clearly a racist!

What’s wrong with you!!! You don’t want to be labeled a racist! Better hurry and support Mr. Hopenchange’s nationalized healthcare … I mean universal healthcare … I mean socialized medicine … I mean reformed health insurance program. Did I get that right at last? Probably going to change again based on polling.

I love it. Pull the race card. And they wonder why race relations are not getting any better in this country. How about because you blame EVERYTHING on whitey as a matter of race?

International Criminal Court

According to MyWay, “Clinton said it is ‘a great regret but it is a fact that we are not yet a signatory. But we have supported the court and continue to do so.’”

It’s a great regret that she’s the Secretary of State! The International Criminal Court will be one more U.N. type organization that is funded primarily with US taxpayer dollars. Furthermore, it will issue rulings by-and-large against the US, our military, and our citizenry. The US Constitution will get bumped as the legal authority over cases in the US and our judges and justices will look to “international law” to determine the outcome of a case. (as if they didn’t already)

This one deserves a big, childish "DUH!"

My question is to the 29% who either believe that he has cut the deficit (the moronic ignoramus 5%), those that believe there has been no impact, and those uninformed enough to "not be sure" is: Are you SERIOUS?

The Joker

I didn’t write anything about this because I felt it unnecessary of my time or your (my readers) time.

However, now we have a story from the Washington Post that pulls the racism card on the Joker poster. WTF? Here’s a clip: “So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the "urban" makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can't openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness”

And, “Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the basic message that Obama can't be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he's black.”

People did the same to Bush, making him into the Joker. There was no outcry over this! There was no charge of racism! It could have been a black person that make the Bush poster but since the target, the victim was white it can’t be racism!!! Background to the swastika: “The word swastika [means] any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark made on persons and things to denote good luck.”

So what is she so mad about? They were merely wishing her good luck!

OK, OK. The stigma of the swastika from Nazi Germany is the reference, you caught me. So they were indicating that our country is turning into one of socialistic principals through the expansion of the welfare state. Statists everywhere are clamoring for more and more “freebies” to be given to the people under the pretense that they are helping the “less fortunate.”

In actuality they are merely helping themselves through the expansion of their own power and control over our lives! Don’t believe me? States that took stimulus money (i.e. all of them) that want to make a stand against the federal government’s overreaching power grab under the Constitutional grounds of the 10th Amendment are being threatened that their money will be taken away. ‘You don’t toe the line and we will take back our stimulus money!’

It’s a joke! If the stimulus money is dispersed equitably to all the states, the money—as if it existed before Timmy and Bernanke fired up the printing presses—would have to come from the people of each state. Therefore it is the people’s money yet the imperial federal government is imposing its “omnipotent” power against the states; ostensibly stifling any rejection by the states.

Does This Seem "Fishy"???

According to the White House: "There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

OK, I'm ready for some government attention.

Dear White House,

First and foremost, it matters not what the president says or states as his "grand plan." The American public has already learned to discount anything a politician says or "promises." For example, the president stated that there would be no lobbyists in his administration (strike one), that he would provide time and transparency for all bills in Congress (strike two), no earmarks (strike 3), he promised to uphold the Constitution (strike four, five, six .....).

What matters is what is in the legislation and what he signs off on, regardless of his "intentions" or "promises." From your website "For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. " What about page 16 of the House bill that states, "Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day”. In other words, you can only keep what you got if on a private insurance plan. You cannot modify it, you cannot change to another plan, and if you leave one employer to work for another say goodbye to your private insurance and hello to the government option.

When asked about this provision the president stated, “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” So regardless of what he says it is clear that he just doesn't know what is in the final legislation and I would bet that he doesn't even read it when the bill, whatever it looks like, hits his desk. Merely that he will use it as a stump to tell the American public that he did it; he reformed healthcare!

Next, the system will morph into a single-payer plan, just as Obama wants. He stated in 2003 that "Single payer health care plan - universal health care -- that is what I would like to see." He also says "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer health care plan." He follows up with "but first we gotta take back the White House, we gotta take back the Senate, and we gotta take back the House of Representatives." Regardless, he promises that this is not what he wants.

He told us, mocking his denouncers, that if we are told the government can't run anything that there is nothing to worry about. Here's what there is to worry about: the government doesn't have to make a profit and they get to institute all the rules! It is illegal for companies to effectively sell product at a loss to capture marketshare and drive other competitors out of business. This is EXACTLY what the government is going to do! They will undercut the insurance companies and drive them out of business--even if there are any left standing when the bill becomes law.

For example, Nancy Pelosi said “Under this legislation, no discrimination for pre-existing conditions, no dropping of your coverage because you are sick, no refusal to renew your coverage if you are paid in full, no more job loss or job decisions being made on the basis of whether you have health insurance." The reason insurance companies don't take people with pre-existing conditions is because they will either have to charge them more because they are more prone to have claims or take them and lose money for their shareholders. The government doesn't have to worry about this because they can continue pointing their guns at the productive citizens to force them to hand over more of their hard-earned money.

But, again, that is what Obama has stated he wants, "redistribute the wealth." This program, like all the others run by the government will end up costing well in excess of the projected figures causing further tax increases on those that are hated anyway, because they succeeded in life and business. Only then will the middle class see the trickle down effect of higher taxes; less jobs, fewer businesses, more expensive merchandise or services to make up for the increased tax burden, etc. etc. etc.

To "rename" the healthcare reform from "healthcare reform" to "health insurance reform" is a hoax! Both are one in the same. You can demonize the insurance companies all you want. You can demonize the pharamcuetical companies all you want. When there is a poorer quality of healthcare, fewer new drugs to combat new diseases, and increased waiting lines for care we will all remember how we came to this point. It was YOU! Americans are not clamoring for healthcare reform anymore, in fact it is quite the opposite. We are starting to realize that the government is just a tool for "the almighty" to do whatever it is that he pleases, regardless of the ramifications.

This country is a republic democracy, not a communist, facist, or socialistic society and we intend to keep it that way!

Tax Foundation Reports...



The Tax Foundation came out with the new statistics for 2008/09 on what portion of the population pays what in taxes. Not surprisingly the bottom 50% paid a little under 3% while the top 1% paid over 40%. You may then accuse the top 1% of earning more than they are paying... and you would be WRONG!

The top 1% make about 23% of all income but pay 40%+ in federal income taxes!

The picture above shows graphically that the top 1% pay more of the federal income tax burden than the bottom 95%!! And the Democrats want to raise taxes on the top earners some more--whats another 4.6% to the federal rate and another 5.4% in healthcare "surplus tax?" Simply amazing!

I Don’t Know?

Again, another political hack that will cheer on, vote for, administer, and rule over a program based on law that she has NOT read!

Politicians should be required to take a test on each piece of legislation before they vote on it. READ the thing!!!! It is YOUR JOB!!

Worse case it will just slow things down.

“’Let me assure you: There will be a health care reform bill passed and it will make a big difference in the lives of the American people,’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in an interview.” Stop making it sound like the “difference” is going to be a good thing!

If you take a look at the medical benefits provided to Congress it will make you laugh at how good they got it. Also, the bills thus far have allowed Congress to abstain from membership. If it’s good enough for you to force down our throats then it should be good enough for YOU!!!

According to the NYTimes: “This will not be the last time that the president runs into a conflict between his audacious agenda and his pay-as-you-go guarantee, when only 5 percent of taxpayers are being asked to chip in… ‘Democrats are more worried about the deficits,’ Mr. Burman added, but ‘they put the burden on a tiny fraction of the population that they figure doesn’t vote for them anyway.’”

So Mr. Hopenchange, you going to “Cut taxes for 95 percent of workers and their families.” Looks like this is just another broken promise to the dumb masses who voted you into office.

Cash for Clunkers? Not Anymore!

After just 6 days, starting last Friday, the $1 billion allocated to this program has just about run out. It is a huge success in stimulating sells of new autos and getting less fuel efficient vehicles off the road. However, it goes to illustrate the point that the government can NEVER only spend what it says initially. This program is expected to get additional funding today (word is about an additional $2B).

And you want the government to run your healthcare when they can’t even get this right? $1 trillion over 10 years is a hoax! It will likely be 5 to 10x that amount.

Freakin’ pisses me off that there are so many out there ready to pull the race card on ANYTHING that doesn’t go their way. A black man in prison? Must have been racists cops that targeted him. Has nothing to do with the fact that he broke the law. But a white man? He deserves it!

If we are ever to get past racism, I think it will have to begin with those out their screaming it to shut up.

Healthcare is a Right?

According to Conyers, “We need a real serious bill and, by the way, the fundamental question, ‘Is health care a constitutional right?’” he said. “I mean, do you have a right to health care in the American system of government or not? Well, we believe that people do and we’re introducing a constitutional amendment just to make it real clear so that you don’t have to infer or assume that that’s a given and all that.”

So eloquently put Mr. Conyers! This from the same guy that stated “What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?” So I guess it doesn’t matter what is in the bill. I’m a representative and I like the idea of nationalized healthcare so I vote for it… regardless of what it actually says.

Let’s be honest, healthcare is NOT a right! Healthcare is a privilege that is obtained by providing the healthcare providers with money (a good or service) in return. To claim that healthcare is a right is to say that those providing healthcare MUST provide the care in expectation of nothing in return.

Currently we have a system that allows those that cannot afford healthcare to utilize hospitals for life-saving care and it is bankrupting certain hospitals! Here in Atlanta there has been years of debate and struggle for funding of Atlanta’s Grady Hospital. The reason it doesn’t have money is all the looter/free-loaders that expect something for nothing.

According to WGRZ, “from January 2006 to May of this year, Rural Metro Ambulance picked [one man] up 603 times…costing taxpayers at least $118,158 … but as high as $360,000.” Another gem, “Medicaid fraud and abuse costs $60 billion each year nationwide.” Want to save healthcare money? Put an end to the abuse!!

If healthcare is a right, why not food, clothing, shelter, or transportation? Those evil homebuilders should just give houses to the homeless. They need shelter to live right? What if there is terrible weather and they are stuck under a bridge? That’s just not acceptable; they should be GIVEN the house!

It’s a slippery slope of “rights” to someone else’s time, energy, property, and talents.

I can only hope that this gets crushed, “and all that.”

Send Them HOME!!!

Alright, I know that I will probably catch flak for this one but here's the story: Guatemalan comes to the US illegally, stays here illegally, probably works here illegally, gets hurt, and spends 3 years sucking up $1.5 million taxpayer dollars.

According to the AP, "The hospital, which spent more than $1.5 million on his care over three years, says Jimenez wanted to go home."

I don't care if he wanted to go home or if he wanted to stay in the hospital or if he wanted a freakin' ice cream cone!! He is in this country illegally!!!!

We should patch these people up and send them home! There is no reason that he should be catered to for 3 years. Once he isn't going to die on the flight back home, ship 'em off!!

And people wonder why our healthcare system costs a fortune. We take care of people that don't pay for the treatment they receive! "Hospitals are already struggling under the staggering costs of treating the nation's roughly 47 million uninsured. Illegal immigrants make up an estimated 15 percent of this group, according to the Pew Hispanic Center." 15% of 47M is a little over 7M that we should not be worrying about insuring in this grand government healthcare scandal b/c they are here ILLEGALLY!!!

I like how the story states that the mean 'ol hospital "sent Luis Jimenez back to the Central American country without telling his relatives in the U.S. or Guatemala." Oh, I feel so sorry. They didn't tell his relatives? Oh, except they obviously told his cousin (who is family) and guardian because "his cousin and legal guardian, Montejo Gaspar, frantically sought to stop the move."

How can you make the first statement and follow it up with the second?!?! Blows my mind!

Then, the guardian "Jimenez's lawsuit seeks nearly $1 million to cover the estimated lifetime costs of his care in Guatemala." Oh, I got it! If you don't keep him in the hospital and treat him for free, you should pay to have him treated elsewhere. Gotcha!

The informed people wish for a quick death to this proposed government takeover of healthcare.

Why does the government always think they can swoop in and take care of the problem? It is the government that IS the problem.

Now I am not saying that we don't need changes, but a full fledged socialistic takeover of the most important service man provides man is not reform--its a disaster!

Reform Ideas:

Stop legislating what type of insurance people need. This forces people who want basic catastrophic coverage to pay more for the full service coverage that is legislated to them.

Expand on the health savings account platform

Provide for more expansive availability of private insurance (across state lines)

Allow for insurance credits on income tax returns (credits that are good for everyone. In other words, credits that do not get phased out for taxpayers who generate higher incomes). The current income tax deduction on Schedule A is subject to 7.5% of AGI, which makes it all but useless for most Americans.

Break the spirit of the overly litigious society that we have become.

Stop demonizing pharmaceutical companies who make a profit! Their profit is our profit since it is they upon whom we rely for medicines and breakthrough treatments.

Provide a more affordable means for students going into the healthcare profession to encourage more citizens to become doctors and nurses. Loan interest rates can be lowered or eliminated, grants for exceptional students, and other forms of incentives could be provided.

The list goes on and on...

Surely these and other ideas have been kicked around but we don't hear about them. Although Democrats are in charge republicans have a voice too!!! And Democrats shouldn't have to go along to get along. It is time for politicians with a backbone to start fighting for our right against oppressive government intervention in our lives!

Evidently the great school of UNCC has failed to properly educate their students. According to the all-knowing college graduate Jennifer Ibanez states that the “memorabilia embellished with pro-confederacy statements as well as those opposing both the government and President Obama. In addition, these products support ideas such as racisms [sic], sexism, and even slavery. While freedom of speech is a Constitutional right it’s difficult not to believe that something just isn’t quite right here.

So, let’s begin the edumacation:

Pro-confederacy statements are no racist, sexist, or does it condone slavery. The civil war, more aptly named the war between the states, was not a war over slavery; it was a war over political power!

Statements opposing government are not racist, sexist, or does it condone slavery. The people of this great nation SHOULD oppose government! This country was founded upon principals of freedom and liberty. The federal government has exceedingly overstepped its bounds set by the Constitution. Remember, the Constitution tells the government what it can do--all other power is retained for the states and the people (10th Amendment). I don’t recall reading that the government can force nationalized healthcare on us, much less all the other crap flowing from Washington.

Statements opposing President Hopenchange are not racist, unless directly attacking him as black man who is inherently superior or inferior to another because of a difference in race.

Statements opposing President Hopenchange are not sexist. This would be the first I have heard of that one??

Statements opposing President Hopenchange do not condone slavery. He holds the highest power of any person on earth at the moment. How does this denote slavery? I haven’t seen or heard anyone promoting slavery???

Lastly, you acknowledge every individual’s right to free speech yet you wish to shut down a business because it sells merchandise contradictory to your own political beliefs! Even if this business wanted to sell products that were racist, sexist, or condones slavery, they should be able to do so under the very amendment to the Constitution you describe. It would then be up to the market to drive this guy out of business by not purchasing his goods.

As you have aptly stated, “something just isn’t quite right here.”

You're Going to Destroy My Presidency!

From the Concord Monitor, “President Obama pushed back hard against Republican critics of his health care overhaul plan yesterday, dismissing the "politics of the moment" marked by GOP comparisons of his efforts to socialism.” Then the gem, “’This isn't about me,’ Obama said. ‘This isn't about politics. This is about a health care system that is breaking America's families, breaking America's businesses and breaking America's economy.’”

So if the healthcare bill is not about HIM, why on earth does he state “You're going to destroy my presidency,” according to the National Journal?

Gun Amendment Shot Down

According to UPI, “the bill was considered the most extensive effort ever to expand federal laws to allow weapons ownership” and it was shot down by the Senate.

Question: What about that pesky little 2nd Amendment to the Constitution? You know, the one that states “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Why does this amendment to the bill that was shot down today even need to be discussed? The right to keep and bear arms is clearly a right of the people. Neither the federal or state governments have the authority to supersede that right, unless the Congress eliminates or alters the 2nd Amendment.

Gun Control Amendment

Nothing is more amusing that watching Dems squirm when the mention of gun rights is brought up.

There is an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill allowing permit holders to carry concealed weapons across state lines.

According to POLITICO, the democrats are upset for a number of very good reasons:

"Why would we want to walk the streets wondering, ‘Who has a gun in their pockets?’" asked Democratic Senatorial Committee Chairman Robert Menendez (D-N.J.).

Feinstein called the measure “reckless,” “irresponsible,” and “a major violation of state rights.”

“I have to doubt that if the amendment passes, people will die as a result of it,” Feinstein told reporters today.

OK, so those who LEGALLY carry guns are going to cause people to die. The thing I have never understood was why we legislate to those who obey the law when those using guns to harm others are doing so illegally.

If I wanted to rob someone with a gun, or murder someone with a gun, or whatever the case may be; those acts are illegal ones. Do you really think I would care about obtaining the gun legally? Carrying it legally?

Note to Congress: Its not those that obey the law you have to worry about.

President Hopenchange had this gem when discussing the termination of the F22 program: "At a time when we're fighting two wars and facing a serious deficit, this would have been an inexcusable waste of money," the president added.

Although the F22 was outdated. Although the F22 required something like 20 hours of maintenance for every 1 hour of use. I find it telling that anything related to defense spending can be considered an "inexcusable waste of money" but all the pork projects and $1+ trillion spent on so-called stimulus is not.

We got cap and tax, stimulus 1, stimulus 2, TARP, nationalized healthcare, etc. etc. etc. Who am I kidding? The only people that care about Obama's jeans are those who voted him in ... all they cared about was that he could read from a teleprompter well and that he looked good doing it.

I Don't Know What It Says; Just Pass It!!!

Obama comes clean to supporters that he doesn't know what the House bill, that he is voraciously advocating, states. After called out on it, he later makes the same charge that you will be able to keep your health insurance, doctors, etc. if you like them.

Maybe if he didn't go around campaigning all the time he would have time to do some work/reading. It's not that far into the bill... look on page 16 or google it Mr. President!

Mr. Frank Has No Power

According to an interview with Tech Ticker's Aaron Task:

Barney Frank: "if I really had the power to stop the Republicans from doing anything you know what I would have done first? I would have stopped the war in Iraq. I would have stopped the impeachment of Bill Clinton. I would have stopped tax breaks for people making millions of dollars a year."

OK, OK...

If slobbering Barney had any power he would (1) stop a war to route out and kill or capture those who wish to kill Americans--I feel warm and fuzzy already; (2) have stopped the impeachment of a immoral, cheating, rapist liar; and (3) have increased taxes on those whose shoulders bear the burden of paying the majority of the taxes already.

Sounds like this guy should be president ... hahaha...

Obama to Create (or Save) Jobs

Now I get it! He meant government jobs!

According to The Hill,

"The House Democrats' healthcare reform bill calls for the creation of new government agencies, trust funds, and advisory committees.

A quick review of the legislation shows that it calls for two new government agencies, three trust funds, three advisory panels, two task forces, a research center, a medical device registry, an ombudsman and many pilot and demonstration programs.

House Republicans are criticizing the legislation for a variety of reasons, including how it would increase the government's role in healthcare.

In a press release on Wednesday, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) claimed the bill would create 31 new federal programs.

Democrats claim that the new federal entities are needed to ensure proper oversight of the nation's healthcare system.

To help administer the revamped healthcare system, the bill would create a Health Choices Administration. The legislation would also set up three trust funds for retirees, comparative effectiveness research and a new "health insurance exchange."

N. Korea = "Unruly Children"

According to Madam Queen Hilary "We are the President" Clinton, "And maybe it's the mother in me or the experience that I've had with small children and unruly teenagers and people who are demanding attention -- don't give it to them, they don't deserve it, they are acting out."

OK, I haven't spilled my beans on N. Korea yet so here goes:

N. Korea has continuously thumbed its nose at the rest of the world, in particular the US. The famed UN has done little but issue new citations and demand that they correct their actions, stop firing long-range missiles, and halt their nuclear enrichment research.

In my mind, the UN is the equivalent of a parking meter maid. It will issue citation after citation, ticket after ticket, with no teeth to back up the fines and impositions. Will they run into your car with their Segway and dent it if you don’t pay your fine?

N. Korea has continually singled out the US against taking any action in self-defense or in making good on the UN resolutions. They realize that the US (at least under an administration with some balls--pardon my expression ladies) is the muscle of the UN. If we don’t do something to physically stop violations the UN will only issue new resolutions. “You didn’t pay your parking meter, here’s a ticket. You still didn’t pay, here’s another ticket…”

If we shoot down their missiles it is considered an act of war by the N. Koreans. Well, time to open a new can of whoop-ass. But President Hopenchange is as spineless as the UN so nothing will be done. Wait for us to get hit by a long-range missile; maybe Hawaii? Then we will open up for new discussions and worthless resolutions. Never any action that has consequences...

TARP ... The Cost is What?!?!

As a reminder, the TARP was issued last year as part of Bush's plan to avoid absolute collapse when Bear Stearns and Lehman were failing/failed. It was pitched to us that the $700 billion would (a) be paid back and (b) that we would receive interest on our investment so we would most probably make money.

So now, as the payments are flowing back in from some of the steadier hands on Wallstreet we have Barney Frank wanting “[t]o use amounts made available under the Troubled Assets Relief Program of the Secretary of the Treasury for relief for homeowners and neighborhoods.” A guess this is a little payback to ACORN for getting out the vote--or should we say--getting out the illegal vote.

Now, according to Bloomberg, "U.S. Rescue May Reach $23.7 Trillion" for TARP spending. "Costs include $2.3 trillion in programs offered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., $7.4 trillion in TARP and other aid from the Treasury and $7.2 trillion in federal money for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, credit unions, Veterans Affairs and other federal programs ..." It's only TRILLIONS of dollars, folks; nothing to get worried about.

Great, just great! Not to paint everyone with the same brush, buuuuuttt, many of these politicians went to the top schools such as Yale and Harvard ... and this crap is what they learned? Refund anyone???

Yea, the Stimulus Has Worked ... Or NOT!!!

From the Washington Post, "U.S. banks have been charging off soured commercial mortgages at the fastest pace in nearly 20 years, according to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal. At that rate, losses on loans used to finance offices, shopping malls, hotels, apartments and other commercial property could reach about $30 billion by the end of 2009."

Now this from the AP, "the health care plan working its way through the House would impose $544 billion in new taxes over the next decade on just 1.2 percent of households" and ...

"This year, 47 percent of filers won't owe any federal income taxes — including some families making as much as $50,000 a year, according to separate projections by the Tax Policy Center and Deloitte Tax."

Here We Go Again!

The AP reports, "President Barack Obama said Saturday his health care overhaul is financially sound, but a new analysis by congressional budget experts of emerging House legislation said it would increase deficits by $239 billion over a decade."

And according to Pres. Hopenchange, "I want to be very clear: I will not sign on to any health plan that adds to our deficits over the next decade," ... umm hmmm... promises, promises.  I remember a few promises made that weren't kept; should these be pointed out?

No earmarks, no lobbyists, transparency, adequate time for bill review, etc. etc. etc.

If Obama understood economics like Joey Biden then he wouldn't be worried about all the spending on healthcare.  I mean, we will NOT go bankrupt if we keep spending money!

Got Debt? Inflate Your Way Out!


In The Beginning:

According to the original constitution, "the legistature of the United States shall have the power to borrow money and emit bills of credit." However, there were opponents to the movement allowing the government to take on liabilities and issue a fiat currency. Alexander Hamilton voiced the majority of the delegates who won the removal of that phrase from the constitution. Hamilton stated, "to emit an unfunded paper as the sign of value ought not to continue a formal part of the constitution, nor ever hereafter to be employed; being in its nature, repugnant with abuses and liable to be made the engine of imposition and fraud." He correctly believed that allowing the government to create a currency that was backed by nothing more than a government promise is prone to corruption.

The Creation of a Fiat Currency:

In 1972, Nixon took US currency off the gold standard. The currency then suffered terrible inflation and Nixon found himself in jail on other charges.

The Bubble:

Famed investor Warren Buffet said February 28, 2009: "When the financial history of this decade is written, it will surely speak of the Internet bubble of the late 1990s and the housing bubble of the early 2000s, but the U.S. Treasury bond bubble of late 2008 may be regarded as almost equally extraordinary."

Where We Are Today:

CBO report states, “That debt stood at 41 percent of GDP at the end of fiscal year 2008, a little above the 40-year average of 36 percent. CBO projects that in the next few years, deficits will be extraordinarily high by historical standards— almost 12 percent of GDP in fiscal year 2009 and almost 8 percent in fiscal year 2010. As a result, debt will grow to 60 percent of GDP by the end of fiscal year 2010.” Some analysts feel that the CBO is understating the problem by overestimating future economic growth.

As of September 2008, the U.S. government’s current and unfunded liabilities are estimated at $56.5 trillion, which equates to more than 4x the GDP. These include promises to repay investors holding U.S. Treasury debt, primarily China and Japan, along with promises made in the form of VA benefits, Social Security, Medicare, etc.

The Payoff:

It would be reasonable to question how this burgeoning debt will be paid off -- if at all. I suppose there are two real options available, three if we assume another technology bull market rally.

1. The government defaults on its obligations to investors and/or the citizenry of this country. This means that the government cannot and will not fulfill its obligations as promised. Although this may seem farfetched, the S&P credit rating for Britain is teetering on the edge of a downgrade to AA.

More likely the government will resend the marvelously extravagant promises made by politicians past in an effort to ease ongoing liabilities. The politicians who advocate this will likely spend little time in office, regardless of their common sense approach to the wasteful spending occurring now.

That leaves tax increases. Since any politician that advocates tax increases on the poor low-income class, who pays NO income taxes currently, will surely never be elected, the common sense answer is soak the rich. As discussed previously in “A Policy Vacuum,” I hopefully made clear that tax increases will only increase revenue to the federal piggy bank to a certain point, followed by decreases in revenue for each additional increase in the tax rate. This theory has also been explored in a wonderful, but long, book called Atlas Shrugged. (If you haven’t read it yet, it is a great book with a strikingly similar government philosophy that we see before ourselves today.)

2. The government deflates their debt obligation through monetization. See Monetizing the Debt here for an explanation.

Effectively this means that the Federal Reserve will create and flood the market with trillions of dollars of the greenback. According to the FOMC, “Federal Reserve will purchase a total of up to $1.25 trillion of agency mortgage-backed securities and up to $200 billion of agency debt by the end of the year. In addition, the Federal Reserve will buy up to $300 billion of Treasury securities by autumn.” This equates to an injection of cash in the tune of $1.75 trillion.

So why does it make sense to increase inflation to pay off debt? Imagine you are the purchaser of a widget that cost $100,000 payable in 1 year. Let’s assume that we have zero inflation. When you pay back the loan in 1 year’s time it will be worth $100,000 in purchasing power, the same as today.

Let’s now assume that inflation is 10%. When you pay back the loan you will give the loaner $100,000 but it will only purchase $90,000 of goods or services.

The primary debt holders have already voiced their concern of a devaluation of their investment through hyper-inflationary policies. Although Timmy “Tax-cheat” Geithner has reassured our investors not to worry, paying back the immense amount of debt will take some action besides Hope and spare Change!

Politician = Corrupt; But You Already Knew That

According to an article in the Politico, "Three House Democratic leaders who were whipping members on the climate change bill gave tens of thousands in campaign cash to party moderates around the time of the 219-212 vote on June 26, according to Federal Election Commission records."

So not only do the Dems buy their votes by promissing the the dumb masses a stimulus check or reduced income taxes, they also pay off each other to vote for bills.

I'm sure the Republicans bribe each other to vote in support of various measures (i.e. you rub my back and I'll rub yours) but I've never heard of paid bribes like this.

Healthcare Costs...

Did any doubt that the costs would skyrocket? The government cannot control Medicare costs, insurance for the elderly, so how on earth would they be able to do a better job with insurance for everyone?

If I seem cynically, that’s because I am. The federal Government has overstepped its bounds on a continual basis, making rules and regulations that it does NOT have the authority to do. Read the Constitution!! Where does it give the imperial federal government the power to create “nationalized healthcare” or whatever you wish to call it?

Time for the people and the states to step up for their rights guaranteed by the Constitution and related amendments.

You Can Keep Your Private Insurance ... Or Maybe Not!

According to President Hopenchange, “First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.” But it appears that the healthcare bill does just that.

On page 16 of the bill, "Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day”. In other words, you can only keep what you got if on a private insurance plan. You cannot modify it, you cannot change to another plan, and if you leave one employer to work for another say goodbye to your private insurance and hello to the government option.

SSA Spends $700K on Conference

Are you one of those people pissed off that corporate executives and other high-income earners are provided company sponsored vacations or trips for conferences? The individuals that should really care are the company shareholders because each dollar spent by the company is another dollar not available to the owners of the company—the shareholders.

Unemployment, worse than you thought

The traditional measure of unemployment is the U3, which does not measure those that have gone back to work part-time to pay the bills until they get a full-time job that they desire.

Here are the different measurements of uemployment:

U1: Percentage of labor force unemployed 15 weeks or longer.

U2: Percentage of labor force who lost jobs or completed temporary work.

U3: Official unemployment rate per ILO definition.

U4: U3 + "discouraged workers", or those who have stopped looking for work because current economic conditions make them believe that no work is available for them.

U5: U4 + other "marginally attached workers", or "loosely attached workers", or those who "would like" and are able to work, but have not looked for work recently.

U6: U5 + Part time workers who want to work full time, but cannot due to economic reasons.

The Policy Vacuum

The fundamental tenet of the liberal mind is this belief that big government is preferred to, not to mention superior to, small government. Since the ideology of big government is persistent in the liberal mind, it is axiomatic therefore, that government is more effective and efficient in allocating resources. Thus, it is acceptable for the government to legally “steal” your money at the point of a gun and disperse it according to the will of the political class at that time.

Unfortunately, politicians do not comprehend that their actions and decisions do not occur in a vacuum. The repercussions of their actions are typically far more disastrous than those created by their inaction. Think regulations for a moment. The collapse of several large banking institutions, along with many smaller ones, have created the idea that banks must refrain from certain levels of financial risk by maintaining government "approved" reserve levels. Therefore, if a bank loses money on subprime mortgage lending, for example, the reserve may dip below the required level for “safety.” The bank then sells additional subprime mortgage loans to shore up the reserve but in doing so pushes down the price of those loans in the market, which further depresses the bank’s assets and so on.

Politicians also perceive income taxation to occur in a vacuum. If the tax rate is raised or the tax base expanded the political hacks believe that they will increase tax revenue to the government. However, new confiscatory tax schemes cause taxpayers to make attempts in sheltering their income, postponing income recognition, or through other measures. This economic reality is exemplified by the “Laffer Curve,” more details here

Arthur Laffer, popularized the basic notion in the 1980's that increases in the rate of taxation do not necessarily increase tax revenue. His common sense theory posits that there a "sweet spot" in overall taxation rates that maximizes tax revenue to the government. Cross that line and people tend to work less causing lowering productivity, decreasing innovation, destroying incentive, and creating a burgeoning welfare state.

The common opinion today is that the government is operating well into the right side of the curve, the shape of which causes decreases in government revenue with each announcement of a new spending program proposed by the current leadership with its impact on the opportunity costs for individuals and businesses to make money.

The main concern currently is that Pres. Hopenchange, along with key liberals, most likely don't care about the ramifications of the Laffer Curve because the politics of "making the rich pay their fair share"--regardless of the fact that about 50% of the American public don't pay ANY income tax--is an overriding concern in their liberal belief system which is centered around the ideals of equality and fairness.
