Canadian Healthcare is "Imploding"

According to the Canadian Press: "Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country - who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting - recognize that changes must be made.

"'We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize,' Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press."

Mmmm hmmmm....

And what are we trying to do in this country? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Shame on our politicians who are literally falling over themselves to get control of yet another aspect of our lives!

Take Down The Little Girl!!!!

OK, so there was a town hall that Obama spoke at where he “randomly” selected a little girl from the audience who was worried about the mean things people were saying about ObamaCare … now named HopenchangeCare or HNCC for short.

Michelle Malkin determined that the girl is the daughter of an Obama campaign supporter and routed out the fact that this was anything but a “random” selection from the audience.

Now liberals are furious about it! “Because she got to ask president Obama a question at a town hall forum. Bad idea! (She was an "in-the-tank questioner.") The girl may as well have painted a bull's eye on her back because Malkin and her online detective pals are takin' that kid down!!”

Oh, and I love the comment by one of the posters: “My personal definition of ideologue is someone who puts their "principles" before the real-life needs of real people.” Ummm… if you don’t stand by your principles what are you? If everything to you is wishy-washy and you change your position 100 times a day, what are you? How can you define “needs of the people”? What are needs? Don’t different people have differing needs? What does all of this make you? Answer: A lib.

FAIL!

The story from AP: “But what LaHood and other administration officials usually don't mention is that some trucks and sport-utility vehicles that get less than 20 miles per gallon, like the Ford F-150 truck and one version of the Cadillac SRX Crossover, also are being purchased with the new government subsidies. Both are bulky vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds when loaded that boast at least 248 horsepower … Ledesma hopes to sell the other 14 at the dealership, along with some of the Hummer H3Ts on the lot that are eligible for clunker rebates.”

So the government can’t even run a car program correctly as they have showed us several times. First we ran out of $1B that was slated for the program in 6 days causing it to come to a screeching halt (pun intended). Next, we learn that after funding the program with $2B more dollars there has been a dramatic slowdown in demand. Now we learn that the program designed to get low gas mileage vehicles off the road and replace them with fuel sippers is allowing rebates for HUMMER vehicles, trucks, and other SUVs that get less than 20 mpg.

Can this administration do anything right? Oh, yeah, they can fix healthcare and do that right. Sure they can….

Politician = Liar; Democrat Politician = Free Pass

"I have not said that I am a supporter of a single-payer system," Obama tells the crowd in New Hampshire.

Yeah, ummmm hmmmmm… There is a video from August 2008 where Obama states “If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system” or in 2003 when he said “I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health-care program . . . we may not get there immediately" and then telling an SEIU Health Care Forum in 2007, "I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out where we've got a much more portable system."

Come on! Are you seriously going to stand there reading your teleprompter and blatantly lie to the American people?!?! What is wrong with this country is that we elect these idiots to office. Can’t we do better than that?

Federal deficit higher in July, $1.27T this year

…but hey, there is 2 months left for the o’mighty PreBO to find this money to close that gap. I’m sure he will be able to reduce the budget by, say, $100 million or so. What a joke!

Also, recall that Timmy wants to raise the available debt limit to $12+ trillion. We are in for some serious trouble if that happens. Let’s do some simple math. Assume our interest rate is only 3% on the outstanding balance of our government debts. $12,000,000,000,000 * 0.03 = 360,000,000,000 or $360 billion a year. That’s $360 billion that the imperial federal government is going to STEAL from you at the point of a gun just to cover the interest payments on our debt! In other words, that $360 billion, or about $1,000 extra per person in this country that they would not have to pay in taxes. But hey, the government can do no wrong, right? Riiiiiiiggght!

Global Warming Scare!!!

We got to do something NOW! Listen to what our esteemed Senator has to say:

According to Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

Maybe I am off here but I don’t think we have one named tropical storm this year much less a single hurricane. Also, I am unaware of any tornadoes… maybe you all can correct me on that?

Furthermore, I love how she says that we need to do something about global warming because “I feel it when I’m flying” and dumping millions of tons of carbon into the air from the jet fuel used by the plane. Moron! Do as I say, not as I do. Why do I expect this now?

Open Debate… Uh, huh…

Is this what open debate is about? Answering a cell phone in the middle of a question???

If You Oppose Gov’t Healthcare You’re Simply a Pawn of Big Business

Or not!

Here is a great piece discussing why the big insurance and pharma companies are pushing for the healthcare reform.

“In light of all this, it's funny to watch Democrats and their activist allies panic over the protests at congressional town meetings around the country. Tools of the corporate interests! they cry. But anyone opposing "socialized medicine" at the meeting can't be a mouthpiece for big business because, as we've seen, big business supports government control. Conservative groups may be encouraging people to vent their anger at congressmen who pass burdensome legislation without even bothering to read it, but that's no reason to insult the protestors as pawns. What's wrong with organizations helping like-minded people to voice their opinions? Why do Democrats, such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi, dismiss citizen participation as "AstroTurf" -- not real grassroots -- only when citizens oppose the kind of big government they favor?”

Social Security Reform is Next!

“’Over the course of the president’s term, the president will, I am confident, address Social Security,’ Mr. Summers said in a response to a question at a conference of the National Bureau of Economic Research.”

“Mr. Summers seemed intent on signaling that Mr. Obama’s idea of “reform” would be to strengthen the program rather rather than to partly privatize it.”

Yeah!!! More government spending from President Hopenchange. I’m guessing he is starting to hope for some spare change (trillions of $$) to be found somewhere … ah, how about the wallet of the rich? That ought to do it.

Government Telling You How To Raise YOUR Kid

This stuff just can’t be made up. Honestly, do they think that we will just ignore such a breach of their Constitutional rights? Remember, the Constitution dictates what the Federal government can do, all other powers and rights are left to the people or the states.

From Town Hall:

It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

Time to Tear Apart the Official White House FAQ

To see the new “reality check” website click here.

#1 I have heard many people worry that health care will be "rationed" under health reform. I won’t be able to get certain tests or procedures. What if I want those tests and what if they detect something that could save my life?

“Health Insurance Reform will end current forms of rationing, not expand it.” –Yeah, riiiight. Look at any other country that has tried this type of government takeover of the healthcare system. What do you get? Higher costs in the form of taxes and longer waiting lines (i.e. rationed care). Having access to ‘free’ healthcare means nothing if you die waiting in line to get a procedure done!

Health Insurance Reform will prevent insurance companies from denying coverage because you have a pre-existing condition …” –Honestly, the whole pre-existing condition argument is getting old. I’m sorry you have a pre-existing condition. The insurance companies can deny you or charge you out the @$$. Many chose to let you seek coverage elsewhere. These companies have to make a profit!

“… and prevent discrimination based on gender.” –What?!! That’s a first for me.

#2 Isn’t health reform going to put more burdens on federal and state governments because we will be covering more people without insurance?

“The cost of caring for the uninsured burdens all of us. Families with insurance pay a hidden tax of $1000 to cover the cost of uncompensated care in this country.” –Then send the illegal aliens packing since they are the primary drain. Also, those without insurance should get the minimum care if life threatening, other than that, you are on your own.

“We have to expand coverage and bring down costs for families …” –That sounds an awful lot like Joe Biden. “We have to spend money to stop from going bankrupt.”

#3 This legislation is going to cost more than a trillion dollars: how can we afford that?
The majority of the initiatives that would pay for reform will come from cutting waste, fraud, and abuse within existing government health programs …” –You mean there is waste in the government? That can’t be!! Ok, so you admit it; what is going to stop this program from becoming even more full of “waste, fraud, and abuse?”

“… and streamlining paperwork.” –No arguments there.

“Health insurance reform must also encourage the kinds of reforms we know will save money in the long run: preventive care …” –See the CBO report on why preventive care will actually increase costs, not decrease it.

“Health insurance reform would be fully paid for over 10 years, and it would not add one penny to the deficit.” –You’re not listening!!!! Read the CBO reports … oh, that’s right. You don’t even read the bills you vote for, why would I expect you to read the CBO reports. Silly me.

“The cost of inaction is too high.” –That is what you said about the stimulus plan and look where that has got us! $1 trillion in the hold and counting (remember, we owe interest on that money because we borrowed it).

Need I continue?

Preventive Care to Cost More, Not Less

Awww... I hate to rain on your "it will cost less" parade! This is just another example of what I have been saying for years, the government doesn't know how much any of their programs will cost and in an effort to get it passed they severely underestimate.

Now this from the CBO: "Although different types of preventive care have different effects on spending, the evidence suggests that for most preventive services, expanded utilization leads to higher, not lower, medical spending overall.

"That result may seem counterintuitive. For example, many observers point to cases in which a simple medical test, if given early enough, can reveal a condition that is treatable at a fraction of the cost of treating that same illness after it has progressed. In such cases, an ounce of prevention improves health and reduces spending—for that individual. But when analyzing the effects of preventive care on total spending for health care, it is important to recognize that doctors do not know beforehand which patients are going to develop costly illnesses. To avert one case of acute illness, it is usually necessary to provide preventive care to many patients, most of whom would not have suffered that illness anyway."

You are Unamerican!

…not to mention Racist! (OK, so she didn’t say it but we have covered that in previous posts. See: You Don’t Support Healthcare Reform)

First read the article in USA Today from Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer. Then come back for my remarks.

“President Harry Truman called on Congress to guarantee all Americans the ‘right to adequate medical care and protection from the economic fears of sickness.’” –OK, so Harry Truman got it wrong too! Medical care is NOT a right!!! It is a privilege as one person has to sacrifice part of their life and property to serve others’ medical needs.

“The failure of past attempts is a reminder that health insurance reform is a defining moment in our nation's history — it is well worth the time it takes to get it right … to produce one strong piece of legislation that the House will approve in September” –So if you want to take your time, I guess that means one month! I’m going to “take my time” building a space shuttle. It should be done next month. Please, these hacks want to get this thing rammed through as quickly as possible so that you don’t catch on to their true purpose, which is not affordable healthcare. It’s not about medical insurance. It’s about political power over you by means of your very life!!!

“it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue.” –Are you serious?!?! First, it is not about health insurance. Second, you and your ilk are the ones spreading misinformation, mainly because you all don’t even know what is in the legislation. I mean, why read it, right? Thirdly, you don’t want to have a civil dialogue. Look at the way Mr. Scott from Georgia blew up over an innocent and honest question. Civil dialogue… ha!

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.” –Wow, where do I start? These people are afraid of change that YOU are bringing because it is nothing but a disaster waiting to happen! If we believe that the facts are what you say they are then we are being un-American. There are no more facts that what is in the bill that gets put forward. And so far, you are ones not reading it. You are the ones that are not presenting the facts. You are the one drowning out opposition by name calling. You are the ones who are un-American!

“The first fact is that health insurance reform will mean more patient choice.” –Yeah, right! After the government has killed off the private sector insurance you will be told who, where, and when you can see a doctor. Just wait.

“It will allow every American who likes his or her current plan to keep it.” –Once again, READ THE BILL!!! You have specifically killed off any ability to switch or change plans. Yeah, you can keep what you got but that’s it! Change jobs, hello government insurance. Change coverage, hello government insurance. Have a child, hello government insurance. Etc. etc. etc.

“never again will insurance companies be allowed to deny patients coverage because of pre-existing conditions” –This reminds me of Atlas Shrugged where the trains had to run to desolate areas regardless of the fact that it wasn’t profitable and their businesses were crumbling. Mark my words, when the government begins forcing insurance companies to accept people with pre-existing conditions the cost of insurance will sky rocket or the company will go out of business because the government can offer the coverage needed without regard to price.

“Reform will mean affordable coverage for all Americans.” –See above! The only reason that government insurance will be affordable is because it is subsidized by the evil, hated, disgusting rich!!

“Reform will also mean higher-quality care by promoting preventive care so health problems can be addressed before they become crises.” –You tell people to exercise in grade school and they choose not to do it. People still smoke knowing the consequences. You think the government having one new program to promote healthy living will change things? Good luck.

I sent this article to flag@whitehouse.gov for the fishy things I saw. You should too!

Increase Federal Debt Limit

“’It is critically important that Congress act before the limit is reached so that citizens and investors here and around the world can remain confident that the United States will always meet its obligations,’ Mr. Geithner said in a letter to lawmakers.”

Ummm… Timmy. Don’t you realize that the more we get into debt the LESS confident people around the world will feel toward us repaying our obligations? It is like giving an alcoholic more booze in hopes that he will quit or at least moderate his alcoholism.

We got some bright ones now!

Jets For The Royalty!

According to the WSJ: “lawmakers to spend $550 million for additional passenger jets for senior government officials.”

Opposition is beginning in both parties of the Senate. “’It is evidence that some of the cynicism about Washington is well placed -- that people get out of touch and they spend money like it's Monopoly money.’”

It is Monopoly money because they didn’t have to earn it! They feel as they are mightier than thou and may choose to spend YOUR money any way THEY feel. Take a freakin’ commercial plane like everyone else you old wrinkly hags!!!

Where is Our Tax Dollars Going?

Despite a new oversight panel, a new special inspector general, the existing Government Accountability Office and eight other inspectors general, those charged with minding the store say they don't have all the weapons they need. Ten months into the Troubled Asset Relief Program, some members of Congress say that some oversight of bailout dollars has been so lacking that it's essentially worthless.”

“The department has refused, saying that once an investment is made in a big bank, it's not possible to track how it's used.”

Excellent! Just spend $700+ Billion and don’t worry, we’ll get it back. We were told this was an investment; that it would actually cost much less than $700 Billion—in fact we might actually make money. The government making money… that’s the biggest scam I’ve ever heard of.

LOL... Now That's Debate!

"But I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking."

Obama Saved Us From Catastrophe!

All hail King Obama! All hail Chief Hopenchange!

He has single-handely saved our economy from certain disaster! From Breitbart: "While we have rescued our economy from catastrophe, we have also begun to build a new foundation for growth," Obama said.

Not only that, he has built a new foundation for growth! My goodness... he's a miracle worker!!!

So I guess a "new foundation for growth" includes digging ourselves so far and so deep into a hole with debt that we can't see the light of day (and no, its not nighttime).

And he can make this claim because "We are losing jobs at less than half the rate we were when I took office. We have pulled the financial system back from the brink."

Gotcha! We are still losing jobs, just more slowly so we must be doing good!

I’m Sure He Is, I’m Sure He Is

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in an NBC interview on Wednesday that her husband was “so happy to be bringing these women home.”

Union Thug Call To Action

From the Huffington Post:

“Every American has the inalienable right to participate in our democratic process. Our politics is passionate, heartfelt and often loud -- as was the founding of our nation. But that is not what the corporate-funded mobs are engaging in when they show up to disrupt town halls held by members of Congress.

“Major health care reform is closer than ever to passage and it is no secret that special interests want to weaken or block it. These mobs are not there to participate. As their own strategy memo states, they have been sent by their corporate and lobbyist bankrollers to disrupt, heckle and block meaningful debate. This is a desperation move, meant to slow the momentum for change.

“Mob rule is not democracy. People have a democratic right to express themselves and our elected leaders have a right to hear from their constituents -- not organized thugs whose sole purpose is to shut down the conversation and attempt to scare our leaders into inaction

“We call on the insurance companies, the lobbyists and the Republican leaders who are cheering them on to halt these 'Brooks Brothers Riot' tactics. Health care is a crucial issue and everyone - on all sides of the issue - deserves to be heard.”

Ok, let’s dissect this a bit.

“Every American has the inalienable right to participate in our democratic process.” We are not a democracy nor were we ever intended to be.

“But that is not what the corporate-funded mobs are engaging in when they show up to disrupt town halls held by members of Congress.” The so-called “mobs” are not corporate funded. They are, by-and-large, ordinary American citizens that are taking their time to ask questions, to voice their dissent to government healthcare.

“Major health care reform is closer than ever to passage and it is no secret that special interests want to weaken or block it.” It is also no secret that it is as you stated, “health care reform” not health insurance reform as we have been told. And yes, any reasonable citizen would want to block what you got out there now. Changes are needed, yes, but not the changes that are in the current proposed legislation!

“These mobs are not there to participate. As their own strategy memo states, they have been sent by their corporate and lobbyist bankrollers to disrupt, heckle and block meaningful debate.” We’ve been through this “corporate-funded mob” before. Are there corporate individuals, lobbyists and others that oppose this legislation? Yes. But the majority are ordinary folks with real concerns at the direction of our country.

“This is a desperation move, meant to slow the momentum for change.” Many are not opposed to the idea of change, we must know, however, what we are changing to. Now that we know more about the bill, we are opposed to what the Democrats want to change to, not the act of change itself.

“Mob rule is not democracy.” Mob rule is EXACTLY what a democracy is! The majority win. The larger your mob the better.

You Don't Support Heathcare Reform, You RACIST!

“But while the organizers are as crass as they come, I haven’t seen any evidence that the people disrupting those town halls are Florida-style rent-a-mobs. For the most part, the protesters appear to be genuinely angry. The question is, what are they angry about?

“That is, the driving force behind the town hall mobs is probably the same cultural and racial anxiety…

“Many people hoped that last year’s election would mark the end of the ‘angry white voter’ era in America.”

So, if you oppose the government’s attempt to take over about 20% of the US economy, if you don’t think healthcare is a right, if you oppose receiving an unearned benefit at the expense of another, if you don’t want rationed care, if you don’t want a bureaucrat in Washington making your health care decisions then you are just an “angry white voter” who is clearly a racist!

What’s wrong with you!!! You don’t want to be labeled a racist! Better hurry and support Mr. Hopenchange’s nationalized healthcare … I mean universal healthcare … I mean socialized medicine … I mean reformed health insurance program. Did I get that right at last? Probably going to change again based on polling.

I love it. Pull the race card. And they wonder why race relations are not getting any better in this country. How about because you blame EVERYTHING on whitey as a matter of race?

One in Nine Americans on Food Stamps

That is equal to 34.4 million people at a cost of about $130 per month per person or $4.472 Billon per month or $53.664 Billion per year.

International Criminal Court

According to MyWay, “Clinton said it is ‘a great regret but it is a fact that we are not yet a signatory. But we have supported the court and continue to do so.’”

It’s a great regret that she’s the Secretary of State! The International Criminal Court will be one more U.N. type organization that is funded primarily with US taxpayer dollars. Furthermore, it will issue rulings by-and-large against the US, our military, and our citizenry. The US Constitution will get bumped as the legal authority over cases in the US and our judges and justices will look to “international law” to determine the outcome of a case. (as if they didn’t already)

Good Enough for Congress?: Sign the petition here!

"As health legislation continues to be debated, one has to ask whether members of Congress writing such legislation would actually enroll themselves in a new government-run healthcare option. Current draft healthcare legislation exempts members of Congress from the public plan option, allowing them to keep their existing plans."

PreBO Has Increased the National Debt

According to Rasmussen:

"Seventy-one percent (71%) of U.S. voters say President Obama’s policies have increased the size of the federal deficit, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

"Only five percent (5%) say the president’s policies have cut the deficit, and 10% say they have had no impact. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure."

This one deserves a big, childish "DUH!"

My question is to the 29% who either believe that he has cut the deficit (the moronic ignoramus 5%), those that believe there has been no impact, and those uninformed enough to "not be sure" is: Are you SERIOUS?

Look at the chart above... very telling! Now, care to take the poll again?!?!

Hat tip to The Chart Store

And This From Our Esteemed President:

From the Politico:

For one month, the fight for health insurance reform leaves the backrooms of Washington, D.C., and returns to communities across America. Throughout August, members of Congress are back home, where the hands they shake and the voices they hear will not belong to lobbyists, but to people like you.

Home is where we're strongest. We didn't win last year's election together at a committee hearing in D.C. We won it on the doorsteps and the phone lines, at the softball games and the town meetings, and in every part of this great country where people gather to talk about what matters most. And if you're willing to step up once again, that's exactly where we're going to win this historic campaign for the guaranteed, affordable health insurance that every American deserves. (emphasis mine)

There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous. So we've got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight.(emphasis mine)

That's why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you're counting on them to act.

But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support. So here's what I need from you:

Can you commit to join at least one event in your community this month?

In politics, there's a rule that says when you ask people to get involved, always tell them it'll be easy. (You mean lie? NEVER!) Well, let's be honest here: Passing comprehensive health insurance reform will not be easy. Every president since Harry Truman has talked about it, and the most powerful and experienced lobbyists in Washington stand in the way.

But every day we don't act, Americans watch their premiums rise three times faster than wages, small businesses and families are pushed towards bankruptcy, and 14,000 people lose their coverage entirely. The cost of inaction is simply too much for the people of this nation to bear.

So yes, fixing this crisis will not be easy. Our opponents will attack us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work, and there will be days when we don't know if we have anything more to give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing what's easy, and doing what's right.

This is one of those times. And moments like this are what this movement was built for. So, are you ready?

Please commit now to taking at least one action in your community this month to build support for health insurance reform:

Let's seize this moment and win this historic victory for our economy, our health and our families.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

****************************
President Hopenchange,

We do not attack your policies because we are afraid of change nor because we profit from the status quo. We attack these policies, including healthcare, because YOU are the liar; YOU are the one spreading falsehoods; YOU are the one who does not understand that healthcare is NOT a right, it is a privilege earned by those that can trade one good or service in return for another!

We are ordinary Americans that take a liking to our country and wish to see it preserved, not destroyed by your irresponsible and immoral tactics!

The Joker

I didn’t write anything about this because I felt it unnecessary of my time or your (my readers) time.

However, now we have a story from the Washington Post that pulls the racism card on the Joker poster. WTF? Here’s a clip: “So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the "urban" makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can't openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness”

And, “Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the basic message that Obama can't be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he's black.”

People did the same to Bush, making him into the Joker. There was no outcry over this! There was no charge of racism! It could have been a black person that make the Bush poster but since the target, the victim was white it can’t be racism!!! Only when some anonymous person makes the same poster with Obama we must assume immediately that the “artist” is white and he did it because of race.

What a bunch of tools we got in the media!

Pelosi: Town Hall Protesters Are "Carrying Swastikas"

So let’s see the proof! I am not doubting you Princess Pelosi since EVERYTHING you have ever said before is nothing but pure truth **end sarcasm**

Background to the swastika: “The word swastika [means] any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark made on persons and things to denote good luck.”

So what is she so mad about? They were merely wishing her good luck!

OK, OK. The stigma of the swastika from Nazi Germany is the reference, you caught me. So they were indicating that our country is turning into one of socialistic principals through the expansion of the welfare state. Statists everywhere are clamoring for more and more “freebies” to be given to the people under the pretense that they are helping the “less fortunate.”

In actuality they are merely helping themselves through the expansion of their own power and control over our lives! Don’t believe me? States that took stimulus money (i.e. all of them) that want to make a stand against the federal government’s overreaching power grab under the Constitutional grounds of the 10th Amendment are being threatened that their money will be taken away. ‘You don’t toe the line and we will take back our stimulus money!’

It’s a joke! If the stimulus money is dispersed equitably to all the states, the money—as if it existed before Timmy and Bernanke fired up the printing presses—would have to come from the people of each state. Therefore it is the people’s money yet the imperial federal government is imposing its “omnipotent” power against the states; ostensibly stifling any rejection by the states.

Does This Seem "Fishy"???

According to the White House: "There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

OK, I'm ready for some government attention.

Dear White House,

First and foremost, it matters not what the president says or states as his "grand plan." The American public has already learned to discount anything a politician says or "promises." For example, the president stated that there would be no lobbyists in his administration (strike one), that he would provide time and transparency for all bills in Congress (strike two), no earmarks (strike 3), he promised to uphold the Constitution (strike four, five, six .....).

What matters is what is in the legislation and what he signs off on, regardless of his "intentions" or "promises." From your website "For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. " What about page 16 of the House bill that states, "Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day”. In other words, you can only keep what you got if on a private insurance plan. You cannot modify it, you cannot change to another plan, and if you leave one employer to work for another say goodbye to your private insurance and hello to the government option.

When asked about this provision the president stated, “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” So regardless of what he says it is clear that he just doesn't know what is in the final legislation and I would bet that he doesn't even read it when the bill, whatever it looks like, hits his desk. Merely that he will use it as a stump to tell the American public that he did it; he reformed healthcare!

Next, the system will morph into a single-payer plan, just as Obama wants. He stated in 2003 that "Single payer health care plan - universal health care -- that is what I would like to see." He also says "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer health care plan." He follows up with "but first we gotta take back the White House, we gotta take back the Senate, and we gotta take back the House of Representatives." Regardless, he promises that this is not what he wants.

He told us, mocking his denouncers, that if we are told the government can't run anything that there is nothing to worry about. Here's what there is to worry about: the government doesn't have to make a profit and they get to institute all the rules! It is illegal for companies to effectively sell product at a loss to capture marketshare and drive other competitors out of business. This is EXACTLY what the government is going to do! They will undercut the insurance companies and drive them out of business--even if there are any left standing when the bill becomes law.

For example, Nancy Pelosi said “Under this legislation, no discrimination for pre-existing conditions, no dropping of your coverage because you are sick, no refusal to renew your coverage if you are paid in full, no more job loss or job decisions being made on the basis of whether you have health insurance." The reason insurance companies don't take people with pre-existing conditions is because they will either have to charge them more because they are more prone to have claims or take them and lose money for their shareholders. The government doesn't have to worry about this because they can continue pointing their guns at the productive citizens to force them to hand over more of their hard-earned money.

But, again, that is what Obama has stated he wants, "redistribute the wealth." This program, like all the others run by the government will end up costing well in excess of the projected figures causing further tax increases on those that are hated anyway, because they succeeded in life and business. Only then will the middle class see the trickle down effect of higher taxes; less jobs, fewer businesses, more expensive merchandise or services to make up for the increased tax burden, etc. etc. etc.

To "rename" the healthcare reform from "healthcare reform" to "health insurance reform" is a hoax! Both are one in the same. You can demonize the insurance companies all you want. You can demonize the pharamcuetical companies all you want. When there is a poorer quality of healthcare, fewer new drugs to combat new diseases, and increased waiting lines for care we will all remember how we came to this point. It was YOU! Americans are not clamoring for healthcare reform anymore, in fact it is quite the opposite. We are starting to realize that the government is just a tool for "the almighty" to do whatever it is that he pleases, regardless of the ramifications.

This country is a republic democracy, not a communist, facist, or socialistic society and we intend to keep it that way!

Yours truely,
Publius

Tax Foundation Reports...

The Tax Foundation came out with the new statistics for 2008/09 on what portion of the population pays what in taxes. Not surprisingly the bottom 50% paid a little under 3% while the top 1% paid over 40%. You may then accuse the top 1% of earning more than they are paying... and you would be WRONG!

The top 1% make about 23% of all income but pay 40%+ in federal income taxes!

The picture above shows graphically that the top 1% pay more of the federal income tax burden than the bottom 95%!! And the Democrats want to raise taxes on the top earners some more--whats another 4.6% to the federal rate and another 5.4% in healthcare "surplus tax?" Simply amazing!

I Don’t Know?

Again, another political hack that will cheer on, vote for, administer, and rule over a program based on law that she has NOT read!

Politicians should be required to take a test on each piece of legislation before they vote on it. READ the thing!!!! It is YOUR JOB!!

Worse case it will just slow things down.

Dems win approval of health bill in committee

“’Let me assure you: There will be a health care reform bill passed and it will make a big difference in the lives of the American people,’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in an interview.” Stop making it sound like the “difference” is going to be a good thing!

If you take a look at the medical benefits provided to Congress it will make you laugh at how good they got it. Also, the bills thus far have allowed Congress to abstain from membership. If it’s good enough for you to force down our throats then it should be good enough for YOU!!!

Out with Private Insurance!

“Uncovered Video: Obama Explains How His Health Care Plan Will ‘Eliminate’ Private Insurance” what else is there to say?

Wonderful World of Nationalized Healthcare

“Patients forced to live in agony after NHS refuses to pay for painkilling injections” – “The Government's drug rationing watchdog says "therapeutic" injections of steroids, such as cortisone, which are used to reduce inflammation, should no longer be offered to patients suffering from persistent lower back pain when the cause is not known.”

Just wait, we shall get our turn soon...

Tax Cuts…

According to MSNBC: “President Barack Obama's treasury secretary on Sunday said he cannot rule out higher taxes to help tame an exploding budget deficit and his chief economic adviser would not dismiss raising them on middle-class Americans as part of a health care overhaul.”

According to the NYTimes: “This will not be the last time that the president runs into a conflict between his audacious agenda and his pay-as-you-go guarantee, when only 5 percent of taxpayers are being asked to chip in… ‘Democrats are more worried about the deficits,’ Mr. Burman added, but ‘they put the burden on a tiny fraction of the population that they figure doesn’t vote for them anyway.’”

So Mr. Hopenchange, you going to “Cut taxes for 95 percent of workers and their families.” Looks like this is just another broken promise to the dumb masses who voted you into office.
