Conservative Kiosk Shut Down

Conservative kiosk not allowed at mall

Evidently the great school of UNCC has failed to properly educate their students. According to the all-knowing college graduate Jennifer Ibanez states that the “memorabilia embellished with pro-confederacy statements as well as those opposing both the government and President Obama. In addition, these products support ideas such as racisms [sic], sexism, and even slavery. While freedom of speech is a Constitutional right it’s difficult not to believe that something just isn’t quite right here.

So, let’s begin the edumacation:

Pro-confederacy statements are no racist, sexist, or does it condone slavery. The civil war, more aptly named the war between the states, was not a war over slavery; it was a war over political power!

Statements opposing government are not racist, sexist, or does it condone slavery. The people of this great nation SHOULD oppose government! This country was founded upon principals of freedom and liberty. The federal government has exceedingly overstepped its bounds set by the Constitution. Remember, the Constitution tells the government what it can do--all other power is retained for the states and the people (10th Amendment). I don’t recall reading that the government can force nationalized healthcare on us, much less all the other crap flowing from Washington.

Statements opposing President Hopenchange are not racist, unless directly attacking him as black man who is inherently superior or inferior to another because of a difference in race.

Statements opposing President Hopenchange are not sexist. This would be the first I have heard of that one??

Statements opposing President Hopenchange do not condone slavery. He holds the highest power of any person on earth at the moment. How does this denote slavery? I haven’t seen or heard anyone promoting slavery???

Lastly, you acknowledge every individual’s right to free speech yet you wish to shut down a business because it sells merchandise contradictory to your own political beliefs! Even if this business wanted to sell products that were racist, sexist, or condones slavery, they should be able to do so under the very amendment to the Constitution you describe. It would then be up to the market to drive this guy out of business by not purchasing his goods.

As you have aptly stated, “something just isn’t quite right here.”
